Zaev: If a special prosecutor is not chosen by the 15th of September, the Treaty of Przino will be invalid

-

“On May the 28th last year, from this place I put forward that Nikola Gruevski must take responsibility for the criminal conduct during elections.” stated SDSM Leader Zoran Zaev at a press conference at the doors of Parliament.
He went on to say that back then, he communicated the views of the opposition, separation of party and state, the rule of law and respect for fundamental constitutional values.

“Just one year later, Nikola Gruevski accepted everything he then denied. Resignation, a transitional government and a new Attorney General were amongst the list of demands. Remarks from the European Commission and the report by Reinhard Priebe became a temporary responsibility, who confirmed all conditions for talks. Primarily to secure an independent judiciary system through chapters 23 and 24, then the electoral roll, electoral law, media regulation and the release of regulatory bodies from the tentacles of power. Today, again we are here to announce the next steps as we have succeeded our first goal. An agreement on creating conditions for fair early elections. We hereby confirm that we respect the signed agreement of the 2nd and the 15th of July. Today I announce that the parliamentary group of SDSM and its coalition partners who all this time were working in the field along with the citizens, will continue to act in the Parliament,” said Zaev.

By September the 15th a special prosecutor has to be chosen, and by the 20th of October a transitional government has to be elected to regulate changes in the electoral legislation and a new electoral roll has to be put together.
