Internal investigation into the “Wiretapping” scandal at “Macedonian Telekom” begins

-

Internal investigation at “Macedonian Telecom”, which was announced by its mother company “Magyar Telecom” a few months ago in connection with allegations of involvement of the communications operator in the “Wiretapping” scandal was launched and implemented with the support of external experts, says “Magyar Telekom” for META.

The letter, in response to the question whether the investigation is conducted, the Hungarian company, which is the majority shareholder in “Macedonian Telecom”, did not specify when outside experts started working, how long the investigation would last and whether the findings of the report will be presented to the public.

– “Magyar Telecom” started the internal investigation with the support of external experts. In accordance with our policy of alignment, we are not in a position to give more comments on the investigation – reads the letter from the Directorate of Corporate Communications of “Magyar Telekom”.

That the Hungarian communication operator will conduct an inquiry into Macedonian daughter company was announced in mid-March, after the opposition began with the publication of intercepted material, i.e. the so-called “bombs”.

The initial information that an investigation is planned was reported by “Deutsche Telekom,” company which is the majority owner of the Hungarian operator.
