Whatever the SEC does in the upcoming period, it will not be able to cleanse the voters list without the cooperation of the other relevant institutions to submit data on the voters list, say the civic association “Most”.
“Most” realized that some of the problems arising in the electoral register are from the strange need for the frequent change of street names by the municipalities, which in some cases means changing houses numbers as well, and there are no plans to set up an inter-institutional mechanism to update the addresses of citizens.
Once the SEC completes the administrative and field checks, and finishes assessing the situation, “Most” say that the competent institutions will need to find a suitable way to remove those from voters list who are found to have illegally registered themselves at residences and obtained ID cards.
