The SEC will intersect data to investigate the integrity of the complaints from citizens

-

Tonight, the State Election Commission (SEC) unanimously decided , that after hundreds of complaints from citizens, they will intersect data to investigate the integrity of the complaints made by citizens by cross-checking the data from various institutions, reports TV “Telma

“This is in regard to all the reports from citizens about people who do not live at reported addresses, or have emigrated abroad. Although these people have temporarily worked for more than three months or a year, they still have the right to be registered on the electoral roll and such persons are marked with a star”, said Atanas Urumov, a member of the SEC.

Applications for deceased persons found on the voter register, the SEC will examine the Administration for Birth and Death certificates and all those who keep records and registers, in basic courts across the country. Also, the authorities and the competent institutions will examine whether there are minors on the electoral register or persons who are not Macedonian citizens.

“Although the electoral roll is checked through the register of citizens of the country, which is maintained by the Interior Ministry, the SEC through its professional service will inspect the register of citizens of the country, and as it is the Interior Ministries job to maintain this register, it is their obligation to cooperate with each other and notify the SEC of any new developments”, reacted Urumov.
