North Macedonia’s SEC rejects all complaints, parties will go to the Administrative Court

-

the State Election Commission (SEC) of North Macedonia yesterday rejected all 2.141 complaints submitted by the political parties regarding the early parliamentary elections that took place on the 15th of July.

Levica (The Left) party submitted 1.982 complaints, but SEC rejected most of them since they had no signature and a stamp. The party’s leader, Dimitar Apasiev announced on his Facebook profile he will appeal to the Administrative Court about the complaints refuted by SEC.

On the other hand, a lawsuit against SEC was announced by the “Nikogash Severna, sekogash Makedonija” (Never North M., only Macedonia”) political coalition.

“As a first candidate on the list in the second electoral district for the “Never North, Only Macedonia” coalition,” in my name and the name of the Coalition, today 20.07.2020, at 10.45h, I will file a lawsuit against SEC’s president and its members for violation of article 178 of the Electoral Code concerning conducted criminal acts according to the articles of the Criminal Code,” said Jove Kekenovski, the first candidate on the list, in his press release.

After yesterday’s rejections of complaints on part of SEC, the political parties will now have an opportunity in 24 hours to appeal to the Administrative Court, which is the next instance on these the lawsuits. As soon as the Administrative Court decides about all lawsuits, SEC will publish all final results from the early parliamentary elections that took place on the 15th of July.
