MANU doesn’t want to be an arbiter, it expects legal resolution of the wiretapping scandal

-

Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (MANU) does not intend to be the arbiter of any political resolution after scandal with unauthorized wiretapping and expects the public prosecutor, the court and other institutions to make a legal decision, “Telma” reports the statement of MANU President Vlado Kambovski, according to who, this shouldn’t be considered as silence, but as an opinion, in a situation where there is not sufficient facts available.

– The truth of the facts must only appear in court proceedings. Every other truth is relative. The truth of the media, the truth of individual stories should be accepted with doubt. Proceedings provide, through a contradiction, through facing all the facts, getting to the legal truth – says Kambovski.

According to Kambovski, institutions must do the work because there is no other alternative.

– There are situations where there is an alternative and situations where there is no alternative. The prosecution and the court alike cannot be suspended. If we have no court and public prosecution, it would mean to take justice into our own hands, and that is the worst thing for a society. Let them understand this as my personal appeal to them, not as MANU President, but as a man – says academician Kambovski.
