With 412 votes “in favor” and 136 “against” while 30 were “neutral”, the European Parliament has passed a resolution that has called on the EU’s member countries at the next meeting to make a decision for starting the accession negotiations with Macedonia and Albania.
The resolution was lodged by 58 MEPs who expressed “deep disappointment from the Union’s inability to start the accession negotiations regardless of both countries’ significant efforts to meet European requests”.
“The decision to block the negotiations with North Macedonia and Albania is a strategic mistake. We stress the role and the responsibility that Emmanuel Macron has with the rejection and the negative consequences on EU’s credibility” stresses the tweet published by EPP MP’s group.
