“Creating a common future” is the slogan of the upcoming cross-border event, that will last throughout the day. It will be held on the 10th of July in Ohrid, in the organization of nine projects implemented from 30 civil society organizations, beneficiaries of grants from the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Albania- North Macedonia, financed by the European Union. The total value of the projects financed by the European Union is around 3 million euros.

It is expected that this event will unite more than 150 participants from different professional backgrounds, such as the sphere of tourism, representatives of the civil society sector, local self-governance, the business sector (active in tourism,agro-tourism and catering and chambers of commerce), as well as from the media.

The focus of the event is identifying the possibilities of developing tourism, promoting cross border cooperation between the Republic of North Macedonia and Albania, as well as promoting the results of the projects that are part of the Cross-Border Cooperation Programme Albania- North Macedonia.

A regional conference is planned as well, under the title “Developing tourism in the cross-border region”. At this conference the main target will be cross-border cooperation as an impetus for the local and regional economy, the development of sustainable tourism, the importance of innovations in providing a regenerated and improved eco-system, and opportunities for new employments.

Those who will attend the event on the 10th of June will have the possibility to be part of the attractive Fair, whose aim is to illustrate the synergy of the regional cooperation so far (within the 9 projects, part of the Cross Border Development Program between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Albania), but also to witness the opening of the Rescue Center of the Red Cross in Ohrid – the first in the region of this kind.

At the opening, the event will be addressed by high representatives of both countries.
