-

Minister of Economy, Kresnik Bekteshi reported that foreign direct investments last year amounted to 624.5 million euros, compared to 181.7 million in 2017, which is an increase of 244 percent.

“This is a historical record of FDIs in the Republic of North Macedonia, since the independence of the country to date. Just in the fourth quarter of 2018, they amounted to 311.3 million euros, compared to the 167.9 million euros in the same quarter the previous year. So, here we have an increase of 85 percent”, said Minister of Economy, Kreshnik Bekteshi after the National Bank published data on the value of foreign investments for the last quarter of 2018 and for the last year.

Yesterday, at Parliamentary Questions, Prime Minister Zoran Zaev told MPs that apart from the 17 realized foreign investments in the country in just 20 months, in the last days of the ratification of the Prespa Agreement in the Greek parliament, six Greek companies decided to invest in our country. Among the announced investments for the next period is German company “Gerresheimer”.

Prime Minister Zaev stressed that foreign investments in the country created 4,500 well paid jobs last year, thanks to the brave policies by the government and parliament, without spending funds for advertising or promotion.
