The law for the Special Prosecutor at the constitutional court?

The Constitutional Court of Macedonia received an initiative to assess the constitutionality of the Law on Special Prosecution “Alsat M” learnt from unofficial sources.

The initiative has come either today or in the past few days. This potentially means that, if there is a small possibility that parts or the whole law was that helped Katica Janeva become Special Prosecutor is declared unconstitutional, therefore prosecutors would not be able to clear up the affair with wire-tapping.

Given that the special prosecutor’s office, but their boss Katica Janeva were agreed among the four major parties under international mediation, the outcome of the initiative submitted directly affects and ruin political negotiations.

According to some information, the petitioner on the constitutionality of the Special Prosecutor is a lawyer from Sveti Nikole. The same person was one of the petitioners of the initiative to the Constitutional Law of the flag in 2005, when two years later several provisions were lifted of that law. That case brought disturbance in the political arena, and resulted in the resignation of the then president of the Constitutional Court, Mahmud Jusufi.
