Tsipras will see Merkel in Berlin, Gruevski, perhaps, in Brussels

-

Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski would maybe attend the Summit of Heads of states, governments and the opposition parties of the European People’s Party (EPP), which will be held on 19th and 20th of March in Brussels.

The ruling VMRO-DPMNE and its president, Nikola Gruevski, are members of the EPP. We failed to receive information from the party whether Gruevski will attend the summit in Brussels on which German Chancellor Angela Merkel will certainly participate.

European People’s Party is the largest and most influential party at European level which represents 78 parties from 40 countries and the Presidents of the European Council and the European Commission.

On the other hand, as already known, Merkel on Monday in Berlin will have a tete-a-tete meeting with Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras regarding the crisis in relations between the two countries.

Greek newspaper “Kathimerini” today announced that Athens began talks with Skopje for measures to increase trust between the two countries, as well as parallel negotiations on the name dispute< a> outside the UN. This situation in Macedonia raised avalanche of speculation about a possible mediating role of Germany in the name dispute.

Unofficial sources, however, denied that there was any connection between the two meetings and the meeting between Gruevski and Merkel in two days is also not certain.
