The Sts Cyril and Methodius University drops 27 places in the world ranking of the best universities

The “Sts Cyril and Methodius” University (UKIM) in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, was ranked 1,944th on the list of 2,000 best universities worldwide for the academic year 2021/2022, which is preparedby the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR).

Although this year, UKIM is the only Macedonian university on the list with a total of 65.9 points out of 100, yet, the biggest university in Macedonia dropped 27 places compared to the ranking from last year (ranked 1,917th) and 128 places compared to the ranking for the academic year of 2019/2020 (1,814).

This year, according to academic performances, a total of 19,788 high education institutions were ranked, out of which the best 2,000 were singled out.

From the neighboring countries, Serbia has 4 representatives on this list, among whom the highest-ranking is the Belgrade University which is ranked 348th. From Bulgaria, 2 universities were listed and from Greece 12. This year, on the list of best 2,000 universities, there wasn’t any high education institution from Albania, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro, and Kosovo.

Again this year, the US universities of Harvard, MIT, and Stanford universities topped the first three places of best universities in the world.
