In the Technological industrial development zone “Skopje 2,” the German pharmaceutical company Gerresheimer AG officially marked the start of its investment, the new plant for manufacturing specialized products made from medical glass and medical plastic. The value of this investment is a minimum of 25 million EUR and the plant will employ 400 persons.
This company’s five-year investment cycle started in 2019, and it should end by 2024 with at least 25 million EUR. The company announced a second investment cycle for the production of glass syringes for medical uses.
“This is Gerresheimer AG’s first investment in Southeastern Europe,” and it will be the largest single investment in North Macedonia in the area of medicine and pharmacology,” said Zaev, who also said that the company throughout the world has 10,000 employees and an income of 1,4 billion EUR.
According to the director of the zone, this is one of the companies that is giving salaries that are twice as high as the state average salary.
