Political parties in Macedonia will have to submit any amendments to the Law on Public Prosecution by tomorrow afternoon

-

Political parties that have any objections about the draft law on Public Prosecution have to file amendments by noon tomorrow. This was concluded at today’s meeting between political parties’ working groups that had talks at the Parliament.

After the meeting, the Justice Minister Renata Deskoska said that some of the parties have filed amendments during today’s meeting, and part of them announced that they will file the amendments tomorrow, while VMRO-DPMNE have filed amendments that the experts talked about during the public debate that was organized to discuss the draft law.

-What we saw today through the amendments today by MP groups that are truly willful and they want to join the process of adopting the law and this encourages me and I think that the opposing stances will be brought closer – said Deskoska.

She expects that VMRO-DPMNE to have a constructive relation as well as the others and that the amendments will be filed by 12 o’clock.

-If the ministry for Justice has a political will this subject to be politicized less, it would be good if this Ministry as an authorized institution to summon these experts and on basis of their publicly expressed objections that aren’t political but are expert, to prepare amendments that will be met with a wider approval and consensus about this law. If we choose to politicize these amendments, the chances for reaching consensus will be smaller, said Antonio Miloshoski of VMRO-DOMNE , saying that they remain open for new meetings.

After tomorrow’s deadline, the talks will continue starting from Monday.
