The session of the Parliamentary Commission for political systems and relations between communities during which a debate about amendments was supposed to start, regarding the draft changes in the Election Code, was canceled.
The Commission’s President, Aleksandar Kiratzovski announced that the debate cannot start because all of the amendments filed about the draft law have yet to be translated.
He informed that so far 3.734 amendments out of 5.899 were translated and put into the electronic system. Kiratzovski stressed that he will wait for the services by the end of the next year so he can call for a session in order for the debate about the amendments to start by the Commission for political systems.
Kiratzovski also said that on the 25th of December he will schedule a public debate about changes in the Election Code in order to be able to present the arguments in favor of and to convince those that oppose it.
Kiratzovski remarked that the goal of those who filed the amendments is to block the whole process and he called upon them to change their minds and to withdraw them.
