Only 2.855 from 87.000 emigrants have applied to vote in the referendum

The latest report submitted to the SEC shows that, as of today, 2 855 voters have been registered for the referendum at diplomatic and consular missions of Macedonia, of which 2,755 have been accepted.

100 applications were rejected, stating that some of the persons who had submitted them have expired travel documents, while some of them had no residence in Macedonia. Therefore, the SEC explained, they have no right to vote. 87 thousand people are registered on the voters list as emigrants.

Before the beginning of the session, it was said that the Ministry of Interior would issue ID cards to a total of 260 people serving prison sentences in order to exercise their right to vote.

At the SEC session, it was stated that the vote for the diaspora would approximately cost a third of what it cost the last time, which was 35 million denars.
