Оn his first day of his presidential mandate, Stevo Pendarovski at Villa Vodno, will have a meeting with the Head of the Delegation of the European Union, Samuel Žbogar.
After the State Election Commission at a session on Saturday handed over the certificate for president to Stevo Pendarovski, on Sunday a session of Parliament was held at which he was inaugurated as president.
“I want to say publicly and to oblige myself, that I will be a president to all citizens, to those who voted for me and to those who voted for my opponents, as well as to those who did not vote. The first thing I will do is to extend a friendly hand of cooperation to the opposition. It is time to heal our open wounds from our recent past and to really begin our citizens reconciliation, because we do not have another fatherland that we can call “our home”. On this path I want to invest all my efforts, regardless of the effect on my own political ratings”, said Pendarovski in his solemn statement.
After the inauguration in Parliament, Stevo Pendaroski went to villa “Vodno” where at an official ceremony, with the highest military and state honours, he was handed over the position president of the state.
Former president Gjorge Ivanov and president Pendarovski had tete-a-tete meeting, as well as a mutual gathering with the employed in the Presidential Office. Pendarovski had bilateral meetings with the president of the Republic of Bulgaria Rumen Radev, with the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, with the President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta, as well as with the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci.
He also had bilateral meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro, Srdjan Darmanovic, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Turkey, Faruk Kaymakcı and Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Piotr Wawrzyk.
