Greece targets Miloshoski again

-

The former chief of the Macedonian diplomacy Antonio Miloshoski is once again a thorn in the Greek public eye. Greek politicians and the media condemned, calling it a provocation, his appearance and speech in front of members of the Macedonian diaspora in Toronto, in front of a map of pre-1913 Macedonia that includes the Chalhidiki peninsula and Olympus.

Miloshoski’s activity provoked a reaction from Kostas Tasulas who is in charge of the foreign affairs department of the Nea Demokratia party. Mr. Tasulas blamed the former chief of Macedonia’s diplomacy for provoking Greece. Tasulas appealed to Syriza and to the Independent Greeks party not to allow the economic crisis to cause giving up on the Greek position regarding its foreign policy issues. According to him, there is great uncertainty facing Greece and its position in the EU because of the financial crisis, which now creates unfavorable repercussions on Greece’s foreign policy.

“Besides the demeaning of our state on international level, in the last few months there is an increase in the provocations started by neighboring countries and the government of Syriza and Independent Greeks does not sent the message that the economic crisis doesn’t mean that Greece will give up on the positions in its foreign policy. A recent example of such a provocation came from Ontario where the vice-president of the Assembly in Skopje, Miloshoski, talked in front of the diaspora and behind him was a map of “Greater Macedonia” which includes Greek territories all the way to Olympus,” says Tasulas in his reaction in which he demands Greece takes a stronger stance in face of such incidents which are considered an attack and provocation on Greek positions.
