Laurence Auer: Negotiations for exiting the crisis to continue in the same format

-

We support EU Commissioner Hahn and emphasize that negotiations should continue in the same format in order to give an opportunity to find a consensus on the political crisis in Macedonia, said French Ambassador to Macedonia Laurence Auer. This is the first reaction from the international community after unsuccessful negotiations in Brussels yesterday.

At today’s reconciliation conference, organized by the Faculty of Law at the State University in Tetovo, she said the need to continue with reforms in an organizational direction to have the better elections that are provided for next year.

– Yesterday’s negotiations ended very late and were in furtherance to the agreement reached on 2nd of June. I will again express my opinion that the alternative proposed by Commissioner Hahn should be supported by continuing political dialogue between the four leaders in Macedonia until a compromise is reached – stated Ambassador Auer.

The European Union has asked Macedonia to meet several criteria relating to recent developments in the country in order a legal solution to the recent developments to be found, added the French Ambassador.
