Macedonia will continue to participate constructively in the process of finding a solution for the imposed dispute on part of Greece, that will not interfere with the identity of the Macedonian nation and will not disrupt the dignity of the Macedonian citizens, said President Gjorge Ivanov at the meeting with mediator Matthew Nimetz.
At the meeting, as was announced by Ivanov’s cabinet, the current situation of the process was discussed and opinions and information were discussed regarding the Nimetz’s ideas and thoughts, including the outcome of his visit to Athens.
“President Ivanov stressed that the solution for the name dispute can be sought only within the framework provided by the UN, the resolutions of the Council for Security, the Timeframe Agreement and the verdict of the International Court of Justice,” said the statement.
Ivanov greeted the intensification of the dialogue and has stressed that the solution for the differences with the name has to be in accordance with the international law and the agreed international obligations.
