The issue of solving the name dispute with Greece has not been placed on the negotiating table due to the political crisis, claims the SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, in an interview with “Radio Free Europe”.
He believes that this issue should be solved by a stable and “fully credible political government.”
“Nobody has brought this matter to the negotiating table, and negotiations can last for more than a year. I do not expect that this issue will be discussed because it is clear to us, and I believe it is also clear to the international community and our political opponents, that only a stable, fully credible political government can solve this problem. We have to solve this problem through a consensus. Both political and civil, transparently, with a step that will protect our dignity, our national identity, our constitutional name, all this with the ultimate goal – to take steps forward which will be acceptable for us and for Greece. My father was Macedonian, I am Macedonian, and in the future, my children will remain Macedonians”, said Zaev.
