Today the Court of Appeals will review Taleski’s appeal against his house arrest in a public session

-

Today, Skopje’s Court of Appeals Court in a public session will review the measure for the house arrest of Bitola’s Mayor, Vladimir Taleski, which was filed by his lawyers, the court confirmed for “Meta”.

Information from the court says the session is scheduled for today, at 14:00.

The reviewing of Taleski’s case in a public session, according to the Court of Appeals, was at the request of the Mayor’s defense team, who objected to the decision made by the Criminal Court.

Otherwise, the Criminal Council of the Basic Court Skopje 1 previously lifted restrictions made by the judge from the previous procedure, where Taleski only had his passport confiscated and ruled that the Mayor of Bitola be put under house arrest.

Taleski’s house arrest came into effect on June 20th, and the Bitola police began to implement the ruling of the Criminal Court and their teams constantly make unannounced visits to his home.

The Mayor of Bitola is the prime suspect in the “Transporter” case, which was opened by the Special Public Prosecution’s Office (SPO). Taleski, along with 22 people are charged with the abuse and embezzlement of the school bus system in the city of Bitola, where it is believed they made a hefty 360,000 euros.
