The Labor Minister of North Macedonia, Jagoda Shahpaska visited today 11 Oktomvri Small Group Home, which the process of de-institutionalization has changed the way of child care for children without parents and parental care into children care based on group homes in the community.
“The goal of Minister Shahpaska’s visit was to receive an insight into the activities related to the re-purposing of this facility. The Center for providing support for foster parents and the Center for mothers and children are making final preparations to start working at this facility that was renovated with the cooperation of UNICEF, and was financially supported by the British Embassy” said the press release issued by the Ministry for Labor and Social Policy.
At the facility, righ now functions one of the pilot commissions for functional evaluation of the children with disabilities’ status in accordance with the methodology recommended by the World Health Organization.
