On Sunday citizens of Skopje will march against pollution under the motto “Who is to blame that our city is gray?”, organized by the association for protection of the environment “Go Green”. The march will begin at noon in the Park of journalists, and the end of the route will be the roundabout at the Catholic Church, near AMSM.
“Put on the clothes with dark color, like the smog that chokes us, bring banners with messages for cleaner air and, of course, (gas) masks. The time has come to have to march to have what is ours. Let this march be a mass one in order to attract the attention of the authorities, and, until then, we will march, asking “Who is to blame that our city is gray?”, reads the Facebook invitation for the event.
The association said that Skopje is the most polluted European city and it demands concrete measures for prevention of pollution.
“Not opening a window and sitting at home are not the solution to air pollution. Who is guilty that we breathe smog? Who is to blame for the overcrowded hospitals? Who is to blame that our city is gray,” ask representatives of “Go Green”.
