The State Audit Office of Macedonia will be more transparent towards journalists

The main state auditor Maksim Acevski has held a meeting with the president of the Association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM) Mladen Chadikovski and the Association’s Executive Director, Dragan Sekulovski, in order to strengthen and deepen the cooperation between the State Audit Office (SAO) and association of Journalists of Macedonia (AJM).

The goal of this meeting was to allow greater transparency and openness of the State Audit Office as an institution that is of great importance for the citizens.

“At the meeting, which was attended by representatives of SAO, there was a discussion about the ideas and the possibilities for cooperation towards education for journalists in order to have a better understanding and reading of audit reports. It was stressed that the journalist articles can be a qualitative source for informing the general public about the ways of spending public assets on part of the institutions that audited. At the meeting, there was also a discussion about increasing the cooperation that would also include the Academy for training judges, public prosecutors, by signing a Declaration for cooperation by each of the three parties” said SAO.
