The court approves indictments against the organizers of the Bloody Thursday attacks at the Macedonian Parliament

The Basic Criminal Court Skopje informed that it has approved indictments against four persons that are charged with organizing the attacks on the Parliament on the 27th of April 2017. The following people are charged for the Bloody Thursday attacks: the former President of the Parliament Trajko Veljanovski, the former VMRO-DPMNE ministers Mile Janakievski and Spiro Ristovski and the former UBK Director Vladimir Atanasovski.

The four persons are charged with “terrorist endangerment of the constitutional order and security”. The procedure against two other persons, the former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and intelligence officer Nikola Boshkoski, who have fled the country, was stopped until they are located. The court will inform additionally when will the trial commence but firstly a judge will have to be appointed to lead the trial”.

According to the indictment by the basic Public Prosecution for Organized Crime and Corruption, the accused have prepared a violent plan in order to prevent a peaceful transfer of power after the snap elections in 2016.

This is a second trial related to the Bloody Thursday after the trial of the 16 people accused of terrorist endangerment of the constitutional order and security was over. in this process, these 16 people received were all together sentenced to 211 years imprisonment while 15 others were amnestied.
