Another location in Skopje has gained another name on Google’s “Maps” application. This time, it’s the Museum of VMRO. If you are searching for the museum on this map, it says „Музеј на жртвите на Жмроизмот/(Museum of the victims of Žmroism)“, and then after a second try, the real name of the museum appears.
Still, behind these name changes isn’t Google itself but the users. Last July, the company has allowed the users to share and edit locations in order to improve the “Maps” application and to mark the unmarked locations. The edited locations don’t appear automatically in the application but are waiting to be verified by more users.
Otherwise, on “Twitter”, the hashtag and “Ž” was used for the former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, and after the bombs were published, VMRO-DPMNE on Twitter was changed to “ŽMRO”
