The аrmies of North Macedonia and USA prepare the Krivolak Military Range for the “Decisive Strike 21” spring drill

An ambitious plan for the development of the Krivolak Military Range in North Macedonia, in cooperation with the USA was announced yesterday by the Macedonian Defense Minister Radmila Shekerinska – Jankovska, who visited the military training range in the center of the country, together with the US Ambassador Kate Byrnes.

Macedonian and US engineering units will start with intense preparations of the Krivolak Military Range before the spring military exercise “Decisive Strike 21”, with 1 200 Macedonian, 700 US soldiers and a number of Bulgarian and Greek soldiers.

“We had an opportunity today to hear from our and US representatives a truly ambitious plan not only for this year, but for potential military exercises in 2022 and the next several years,” said Shekerinska.

In mid-March around 275 members of the 15th Engineering battalion of the US Army in Europe will arrive in Krivolak, who will be preparing intensively the military range with their Macedonian counterparts for the forthcoming exercise. Among the preparations that will be conducted is the upgrade of the road that was built by Macedonian engineering teams, which will be upgraded for heavy armored vehicles traffic.
