Tensions grow in Gevgelija after two taxi drivers were injured after they had put up a blockade on the railroad tracks, reported Nova TV.
Taxi drivers have become increasingly angry because the Macedonian Railway as well as the institutions violated the terms of their agreement, and are again transporting refugees through the day.
According to information from the field, a taxi driver was injured by the pushing and shoving in the crowd, and one was beaten by special police forces, where an ambulance intervened to help the injured.
According to the agreement, in the next ten days, the decision was meant to be observed, taxis to transport refugees during the day and at night by train. Yesterday, this part of the agreement was respected, but this morning refugees were again being transported by trains. Taxi drivers said to “Nova TV” that Rapid Intervention Units are on the field however they still have not come into conflict with the taxi drivers.
