“Now is the moment when it becomes evident who wants good neighborly relations. We passed our test,” said North Macedonia’s Defense Minister Radmila Shekerinska – Jankovska after the statement by her Bulgarian counterpart Krassimir Karakachanov that Bulgaria will oppose the intergovernmental conference between the EU and North Macedonia on the start of the EU accession negotiations.
“These statements aren’t in the spirit of the good neighborly relations. The emotions aren’t good allies when solving bilateral issues. We showed that we can be friends with all of our neighbors. We expect our allies to help the region and not to hinder it,” said Shekerinska when asked to comment on the statement of her Bulgarian colleague.
