Shehu: Voting in embassies abroad is too expensive, expats should come and vote here

-

Twenty minutes into the first session of the new State Election Commission (SEC), agitated journalists interrupted the session due to the poor consecutive translation from Albanian to Macedonian.

Vice-President of the SEC, Ditmire Sehu said that voting in embassies abroad is too expensive and invited all citizens with temporary residence abroad to come and vote in Macedonia.

Earlier, at the beginning of the session, SEC member proposed by SDSM Janake Vitanovski began to explain the draft Rule-book for organizing the referendum on 30 September and said that with it, the SEC will try to overcome the collision between the Law on Referendums and the Electoral Code, in order for the referendum to be organized successfully.

As stipulated in the Rule-book, one of the differences in parliamentary, local and presidential elections will be that members of the electoral boards proposed by political parties be excluded, ie only three members of the electoral board, that is members of the administration, will be excluded in the referendum.
