SDSM filed charges against Sasho Mijalkov, director of UBK, Svetlana Kostova, a judge in the High Administrative Court, and Haim Hakijni, foreign citizen, today to the Public Prosecutor for Organized Crime. The crimes for which the charges were filed are accepting bribes, abuse of official position and authority and bribery.
– In 2011, the first suspect Sasho Mijalkov, through unknown company, received a commission of 840,000, 540,000 and 200,000 euros, as a reward for signing a contract for the purchase of equipment at a much higher price than the actual. Sasho Mijalkov committed a crime taking bribes and abuse of official position and authority. Second suspected helped Mijalkov and mediated the payment of the reward and the conclusion of the contract for the purchase of equipment. Third suspect Hakijni agreed and to made payment of the reward, thus committing a crime bribery. The actions of the three inflicted enormous damage on the budget of Macedonia, which should be further determined – stated SDSM spokesman Petre Shilegov.
