The Health Ministry informs that according to the report issued by the Public Health Institute, in the period between 19 and 25th of October, 84 death cases were registered in 24 cities, which is an increase of 71.4 % compared to the previous week.
Out of these, 66 persons were aged above 60, 13 persons were aged between 50 and 59, 3 deaths were aged between 40 and 49, and two were aged between 30 and 39. Out of the total number of death cases, 45 or 53.6 % of them, were epidemiologically investigated.
A total of 13.993 materials were tested at the labs for COVID-19, which is an increase of 5.9 %, compared to the previous week. 3.410 new cases positive to COVID-19 were registered in 35 cities which is an increase of 27.4 % compared to the previous week. Most of the cases were registered in Skopje (48.5 %) where the highest weekly number of newly infected was registered – 267,8/100.000.
During the aforementioned period, the percentage of positive cases out of the people tested is 24 %. Infections were registered among all age groups, and the most affected are the persons aged between 30 and 39 (22 %). A large number of infected were registered among persons of age groups above 60 (19.7) and then between 40 and 49 (18.5), between 50 and 59 (17.4 %) and between 20 and 29 years, the number of positive cases is 15.8 %. The least number of positive cases was registered among children aged between 0 and 9 (2.1 %) and among the age group between 10 and 19 (4.4 %).
Regarding gender, 49.7 % of the registered are female and 50.3 % are male. Epidemiologically, 555 cases were researched i.e. 16.3 %. After 2 negative tests for the presence of SARS-CoV-2 or with the use of the new algorithm, 1.556 persons who were either hospitalized or had out of hospital care, are considered as recovered, which is by 477 more compared to the previous week.
