The victory of SYRIZA doesn’t intimidate members of the EU

A meeting of Ministers of Economy and Finance of the Euro zone is held in Brussels today, a day after the Greek elections, whose outcome is one of the main topics.
After the landslide victory of SYRIZA and announcements that this scenario may adversely affect the Euro zone and the European Union, Ministers of Economy and Finance of the Euro Group and the European representatives of the European Commission today are soothing the public.
– During the campaign, this government has shown that it is responsible, never mentioned leaving the euro, never mentioned putting in question the charters and rules that bind us. It would be bad for Greece, as well as bad for Europe, so the Government has shown that it wants dialogue – stated the French Finance Minister Michel Sapin before the beginning of the meeting in Brussels.
He noted that negotiations on Greek debt are not excluded as a topic of conversation, something that Tsipras insisted during the campaign.
Today’s meeting of the Euro Group is not about elections in Greece and it was scheduled before the Greek elections were announced. European Commissioner for Finance Pierre Moscovici said that yesterday’s elections will be the topic of conversation today and that full formation of the new government is awaited.
