Pardons granted to Gruevski, Mijalkov, Crvenkovski, Jankuloska and others published in the “Official Gazette”

President Gjorge Ivanov’s decision to grant a pardon and an amnesty for all politicians has been published quite hastily in the “Official Gazette”, an official publication which lists all the names of all those granted pardons by the President.

Among them the names are those of the leader of the VMRO-DPMNE and former Prime Minister, Nikola Gruevski, former director of the UBK (Security and Counter-Intelligence Agency) Sasho Mijalkov, former Interior Minister Gordana Jankuloska, Minister for Labour and Social Affairs Mile Janakieski, Martin Protuger, a senior official in the VMRO-DPMNE party, the SDSM leader Zoran Zaev, Zoran Verusevski, Branko Crvenkovski, and former security chief to Gruevski, Dejan Mitrevski-Urko.

Janakieski and Jankulovska have been pardoned for the largest number of offences granted pardons. They are at the top of the list, having between them 27 offences for which they have been pardoned, all relating to the intercepted conversations.

Mile Janakieski has been pardoned for 16 offences, while Gordana Jankuloska has been pardoned for 11 offences. Sasho Mijalkov took third place and was pardoned 6 for offences, Nikola Gruevski and Martin Protuger have been pardoned for 5 matters. From the opposition, Zoran Zaev and Zoran Verushevski have been pardoned in relation to two cases.

The decision for the pardons or immunity from prosecution without criminal proceedings, also applies to Bozidar Janovski, the Managing Director of the “Diners Club Macedonia” company, who is also the husband of Vice President of the SDSM, Radmila Sekerinska.

Further pardons granted by Ivanov were granted to prosecutors from the Special Prosecutions Office, Fatime Fetai, Lile Stefanova and Gabril Bubevski. The Public Prosecution – Skopje had filed charges against the prosecutors on charges of harassment and applying pressure to witnesses.
