In a press release, Slobodan Bogoevski, Vlado Peshlikovski and Vasko Tomanovik, who were recently sentenced to prison in the “Agent” case and whose verdicts were confirmed by the Court of Appeal, claim that the case has a criminal-political background, which was designed by the Government.
– Under orders of “the family” that governs the executive, legislative and judicial power in Macedonia, Jovan Ilievski began proceedings for prosecution of organized crime that allegedly was committed by us, even though he knew that there is no fact and evidence for it. We were illegally arrested and detained for eight months without basis and without any reasons justifying it, but only with the bare stating that the prosecutor has the right to request and investigating judge to determine custody in accordance with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code – reads the statement.
As a response to the rhetorical question as to why the case is constructed, the end of the correspondence reads: “The answer lies in money. The Government constructed this case in order to steal the last 30 million euros from the budget of the Republic of Macedonia, on behalf of anonymous offshore company in Cyprus, owned by business partner of the family, Dimitris Kondominas.”
Former Director of Security and Intelligence, Slobodan Bogoevski, lawyer Vlado Peshlikoski and representative of “Mercator”, Mitja Valik, were sentenced to two years of prison, while lawyer Vasko Tomanovik was sentenced to three years of prison for financial mismanagement.
They were also accused that they laundered money through fictitious contracts and fictitious daughter companies of Cyprus Central Balkan Investment and the Slovenian “Mercator”.
