North Macedonia reports all-time high death toll of COVID-19, with 22 deaths in 24 hours

Today, Macedonia registered the highest tally of people who died from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic in the country. 22 people died in the past 24-hour period and the total number of people who died due to the coronavirus in North Macedonia has climbed to 919, informed the Health Ministry.

“22 people have died, 7 patients from Skopje (aged 55, 78, 71, 35, 66, 71, and 64), one from Kumanovo (aged 57), two from Debar (aged 58 and 64), one from Prilep (aged 61), one from Struga (aged 75), two patients from Veles (aged 61 and 64), two from Bitola (74 and 70), two from Gostivar (aged 79 and 76), two patients from Kriva Palanka (56 and 88), one from Kochani (aged 60), and one patient from Delchevo (aged 81). Out of all patients who died, only two patients have died out of hospital, informed the press release issued by the Health Ministry of North Macedonia.

The number of deceased in the country is growing, together with an increase of the newly infected persons with COVID-19.

The Health Ministry informed that in the past 24 hours, 1.901 tests were performed and 561 new COVID-19 cases were registered.

The total number of COVID-19 diagnosed in North Macedonia since the start of the pandemic is 26.954 and the number of recovered patients is 18.627. The death toll is 919 and at the moment, the number of active cases is 7.408.
