Health Minister Filipche concerned about the COVID-19 situation in North Macedonia

-

Health Minister Venko Filipche expressed his concern about the situation with the COVID-19 and once again appealed all measures and legal amendments to be done expediently and by urgent procedure in order to implement the right protective measures against the outbreak.

“We are registering a record of 30% of positive cases out of all tested and almost 600 patients were hospitalized at infectious diseases wards throughout the country. The situation with the virus is extremely serious and critical, the pressures on the hospitals and the medical personnel are tremendous. The second wave of the coronavirus is sweeping throughout the whole of Europe and the world and no one is spared. I ask everyone to take this seriously, as it depends on all of us how we shall overcome this wave. I expect all measures and legal amendments to be adopted expediently and by urgent procedure. I call for everyone to act responsibly and to observe all protective measures,” wrote Filipche.

Otherwise, during the parliamentary session, a discussion is scheduled about the amendments to the Law for the protection of the population from infectious diseases.
