The owner of “Fikom”, Nikola Nikolik, was found hanged in the bathroom of the Shtip prison where he was serving his sentence for fraud in the sale of apartments to more people, says META correspondent from Shtip.
Nikolik’s death was confirmed by the Department for enforcement of sanctions, and the case was also confirmed by his lawyer Aleksandar Petrovski.
– My client, Nikola Nikolik of “Fikom” tonight is found hanged in prison Shtip. Apparently, he took his own life, let he rest in peace. I cannot understand the thirst for arrest of all those who cheer for that. People are turned into beasts, they do not see the pain, they talk only for arrests – write Petrovski on “Facebook”.
Nikola Nikolik spent nine years in prison. In 2012, his name is found between the headlines in newspapers and again because of suspected fraud and embezzlement, after, as the head of the Shtip prison canteen, was discovered shortfall in daily operations, because of which he was dismissed.
He and his wife Vesna Nikolik-Staleska, were sentenced to prison for scandal “Fikom”, which was discovered in 2006, and it came to selling the same apartments to many clients in settlement Kisela Voda.
This is not the first suicide in Shtip prison. Three years ago, also by hanging, a prisoner convicted of pedophilia took his own life. Two years ago, prisoner reported that was raped by another, with whom he shared the cell.
Several prominent figures from the criminal milieu in the country, convicted of murder, terrorism and other serious crimes serve their sentence in the prison in Shtip. Among them are Kondovo resident Agim Krasniqi, tobacco “boss” Bajrus Sejdiu, while recently Amir Drpljanin, convicted of assault and murder of a policeman near Faculty of Natural Sciences, who was sought for arrest and who was extradited from Kosovo, was put in this penitentiary institution.
