Liberal Democratic Party of Macedonia expressed condolences to the family and to the citizens of the Russian Federation for the murder of opposition leader Boris Nemtsov.
“Liberal by conviction, Nemtsov was a brave defender of democracy and a fierce fighter against corruption in his country. Russia lost a strong and courageous politician of democracy, a vocal critic of the Government. We express hope that the creators and the perpetrators of this cowardly act will be found and punished. Nemtsov’s murder shows the difficulty of the situation in which are the fighters for democracy in Russia, but at the same time, it should be a message to all of us here, in Macedonia, that we should not deviate from the way in which we went to introduce Macedonia within EU and NATO. To guarantee citizens’ freedom of speech and personal determination,” reads the statement of LDP.
