The Commission for Relations with Religious Communities and Religious Groups stated that Pope Francis through the Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin sent a telegram to express his condolences to Skopje’s Bishop Kiro Stojanov for the flood victims in Skopje and the surrounding area.
“After hearing of the dramatic storm that hit the city and the surrounding villages, which has caused deep pain to the whole community in the country, the Pope sends his prayers to the families of the victims and expresses his spiritual closeness to those who are in mourning. His Holiness prays for all those who lost their lives and calls for heavenly comfort to those who suffered from the effects of the storm, and sends everyone an apostolic blessing”, reads the telegram from the Vatican.
