The President of the state, Gjorge Ivanov, today called on the leader of SDSM, Zoran Zaev, together with his coalition partners to provide guarantees for strengthening the unitarity of the country. Regarding the mandate for forming a new government, he will act in accordance with the Constitution and the established practices.”
“The letter sent from the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia arrived at the cabinet of the President of the Republic of Macedonia, yesterday, on the 9th of May. President Ivanov expects the SDSM party leader to fulfill his public promise that together with his coalition partners he will provide guarantees for the strengthening of the country’s unitarity and that everything will be in accordance with the Constitution. President Ivanov maintains his position on the so-called Tirana platform or any other document, act or activity that are contrary to the Constitution of the Republic of Macedonia, and cannot be a condition or a basis for forming a government or its activities. The Macedonian President, regarding awarding the mandate, it will be conducted in accordance with the Constitution and the established practices”, announced Ivanov’s cabinet for the state news agency MIA.
Otherwise, the newly elected Parliament Speaker, Talat Xhaferi, yesterday sent another letter to President Ivanov to officially inform him that a parliamentary majority has been formed.
