With the agreement of the political parties for conducting the elections on December 11, and the 100-day countdown to election day, the parties have respected the agreement and the agreement from June-July of last year, said European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations, Johannes Hahn to Radio “Slobodna Evropa”.
He stressed that elections will not bring an end to the urgent reform priorities in Macedonia.
“I think that they realized that they’re at a serious point in the country’s development. However, it is not just about elections, but urgent reforms priorities need to be implemented. The elections are important because they might bring an end to a certain period, but the elections will not bring an end to the necessary reforms and that is something we need to remind everyone in the country of”, said Hahn.
