Fouere: What did DUI do in the Government in the past seven years?

Diplomat and former ambassador to the European Union (EU) in Macedonia Erwan Fouere didn’t refrain in directing harsh criticism to Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) in his address on the thematic Congress of the party, on which he attended as a guest, reports “Nova TV”.
“The arrogance with which the ruling party (VMRO-DPMNE) imposed their narrow partisan ideology has become so convincing that Macedonia is in danger of losing its own soul,” said Fouere, and then asked the question: “But what did DUI do in the Government in the past seven years?”
“At the beginning,” said Fouere, “DUI had a calming influence on their partners in the Government and tried to play a constructive role on the name dispute, as opposed to its coalition partner, who exploited the dispute to score political points in their fight against political opponents.”
“But at other times, in terms of media freedom, the importance of political dialogue, the construction of consensus and respect for democratic processes, DUI was strangely silent. I am sorry that I have to be this honest. But I’ve always been honest with my friends and I was always telling them the truth,” said the diplomat.
