A four-year-old child from Strumica has been taken ill with symptoms of the West Nile Virus and has been admitted to the Pediatric Clinic.
The Clinic says that the child had not been out of the country, and most recently, he had not even left the city of Strumica.
This is the first reported case of the West Nile Virus this year in Macedonia. In recent years, however, in recent years there have registered deaths due to the contagious virus.
The disease is carried by the ordinary mosquito. Mosquito’s are infected by birds which have migrated, but it also carried by the ravens and crows.
