“We are confident that France will recognize that our thirst and work to create a stable and prosperous European democracy at home, fully coincides with President Macron’s vision and efforts for a strong, stable and prosperous Europe,” said Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov during a working visit to Paris together with Deputy Prime Minister, Bujar Osmani.

During the visit, they met with Secretary of State for European Affairs Amélie de Montchalin at the French Foreign Ministry and Clément Beaune, an adviser on Europe in the Cabinet of President Emmanuel Macron.

The interlocutors were briefed in detail on the progress made in key areas that are part of the Council of Europe’s conclusions last year, and are a solid basis for reaching a decision to start negotiations this year.

Possibilities for enhancing bilateral cooperation between the two countries in areas of mutual interest were also discussed.
