Criminal Court Wants More Evidence From SPO on the Destruction of Equipment for Wiretapping

-

The Basic Court Skopje 1 has stated that the judge has returned evidence against G.G. and other suspects of forging official documents, submitted by the Special Prosecutor’s Office.

“In addition to the submitted indictment against the suspects, a list of evidence has also been submitted. The content of the list does not suggest that the evidence should have been declassified for the court proceedings, therefore the evidence will be used in the proceedings on the basis that the evidence can help evaluate the charges, however, given there were no such act, the evidence can not be used by the court service, to form the shape of the case”, said the court.

The Special Public Prosecutor’s Office last week filed their first two indictments. Prosecutor, Fatime Fetai explained that one indictment is for destroying documents related to the equipment used in the illegal wiretapping, and the other indictment is for the violence that occurred outside the Municipality of the Centre, in June, 2013.

The prosecutor went on to explain that the documents were destroyed without any procedures.

“In this case, there is a total of seven accused. The defendants, against all laws, burned the records of the location which they were directed to by the prime suspect. Also destroyed are the records related to the operation of the monitoring systems of communications”, added Fetai.
