US Ambassador to Macedonia, Jess Baily after meeting with President Gjorge Ivanov today, again condemned his decision to halt the trials against politicians and also urged everyone to avoid the use of violence.
“Mass pardon equals impunity and that equals an obstacle to credible elections, and the Euro-Atlantic path. And that peaceful demonstration is a fundamental democratic right. Violence and vandalism is not”, tweeted Ambassador Baily.

US Ambassador Jess Bailey and EU Ambassador Aivo Orav, on Monday afternoon met with President Ivanov. At the meeting, which they waited two days for, they discussed the Presidents decision to pardon the politicians. However, more details regarding the meeting are to be revealed.
Ivanov in his address to the nation, said that the country’s political crisis was created and imported from abroad, and that he alone made the decision, which aims to end the situation that the Przhino Agreement failed to do.
