Ambassadors Geer and Galloway express condolences on victims in hospital blaze in North Macedonia


The tragedy that struck Tetovo, North Macedonia, last night, when blaze destroyed the modular COVID-19 hospital killing 14 of the 26 patients that were treated in the premises, is breaking news in the region and condolences are arriving from all sides.

The EU Ambassador to North Macedonia, David Geer, expressed sorrow over the tragedy that struck the people of Tetovo.

“Our thoughts are with the people of Tetovo this morning following the tragic fire at the modular hospital. Sincere condolences to the families and friends of those who have lost their lives and best wishes for a speedy recovery for the injured” wrote Geer on his Twitter profile.

British Ambassador Rachel Galloway also expressed her condolences through her Twitter account.

“My thoughts are with the people of #Tetovo and victims of the tragic fire that took over the COVID centre in the city. This devastating event comes at a time when people are most in need. My condolences to those that have lost loved ones.”
