At the meeting they discussed several current issues, including the importance of the upcoming referendum and the need for a proactive role for all citizens, including the Diaspora for a successful referendum.

At the meeting, Zaev said that NATO and the EU represent economy, stability and security to Republic of Macedonia and expressed expectation for a successful referendum.

“I am convinced that the referendum will confirm the decision to go for the Euro-Atlantic future of Macedonia, which will bring European life, stability and security to Macedonia. I appeal to all, if you love your country, vote on the upcoming referendum, and therefore the Diaspora could make a significant contribution to this historic moment of progress”, Zaev said.

The prime minister and representatives of the Diaspora also talked about the benefits of the reform system in the country, with establishing good relations with neighbors and the Euro-Atlantic integrations.

“A true patriot is one who secures the future of the country. It is a benefit for our children, for the present generations and it is a fulfillment of the centuries-old aspirations of our ancestors to confirm the identity of the Macedonians, the Macedonian language and setting Macedonia as a state, once and for all, in the world of family states”, said Prime Minister Zaev and thanked the Diaspora representatives for their determination to help realizing the strategic goals of the country, NATO and the EU membership, and thus for the economic prosperity of Macedonia.
